Daughtry: Live

I came across these two clips on YouTube and couldn't stop repeating the songs over and over again. Daughtry is indeed an American Idol, too bad he did not win the competition (how he manage to finish fourth still bugs me - just look at the man perform live). I guess now that he's more successful than Taylor Hicks, Katherine McPhee and Elliot Yamin (Idol's Season 5 winner and runner-ups) combined, the last laugh truly belongs to him.

No Surprise

I didn't really get the meaning of the song until I saw the videoclip. Apparently, the song tells a story of a time-worn end of a relationship; a time where love alone would not sustain a relationship and that when all efforts fail, grace and respect are all that matters in ending the relationship.

Life After You

"It's hard to believe that a man with sight could be so blind"... the song basically revolves around the notion that guys (being guys) tend not to appreciate what they have until they lose (or about to lose) the things that matters most. In this case, Daughtry's song is about a man's regret in leaving the person he loves after realising that "there is no life after you".

On a personal note, I would like to dedicate this part of the song to my wife:

Ini [baru] Cerita Raya 1430H

Salam Dear Readers,

Ini mahu cerita tentang Raya kami tahun ini. Sungguh seronok dengan kehadiran Si Kecil buah hati kami ini.

Ini cerita Hari Raya Pertama kami. 1 Syawal 1430H bersamaan 20hb September, 2009 Hari Raya tahun ini jatuh pada hari Ahad. Warna purple jadi tema Raya Pertama kami tahun ini. Baju kurung saya itu disponsor Suami saya ketika kami di Jakarta. Kasut Raya Khayra itu hadiah dari Mak Long-nya.



Perlu ke saya ulaskan satu per satu cerita Raya bergambar kami ini? Jika anda mahu terus membacanya, sila kan sehingga penghabisan gambar entri ini tapi jangan sampai muntah darah sudah sebab mungkin ada unsur-unsur kegembiraan melampau menyambut Raya pada tahun ini. Hahah! Gambar di atas masih pada Hari Raya Pertama kami. Itu gambar (ke-2 kanan) Khayra bersama Eirfan, dan gambar kanan bawah, Khayra bersama Aisyah, Tok Wan & Tok Abah. Tok Wan & Tok Abah gembira Raya tahun ini lengkap dengan 2 cucu perempuan. Pagi Raya Pertama saya di rumah Mertua dan agenda seterusnya beraya ke rumah saudara mara sebelah saya.



Ini pula cerita pagi Raya Kedua. Tema kami adalah biru. Raya Kedua secara khususnya disambut oleh keluarga saya by welcoming our relatives to our house. Memang menjadi tradisi setiap tahun, Raya Kedua kami di rumah Ummi & Abah bagi menjamu sanak saudara. Ini kreativiti Ayah Long Khayra, sebelum orang 'serang' rumah kami untuk beraya, kami pulun bergambar dulu. Heheh.

Pose bergambar 3-beranak pada pagi Raya Kedua. Khayra excited tengok lampu crystal chandelier. Heh.





Lagi cerita pada Raya Kedua. Gambar Pertama dari Kiri : Tok Wan requested nak bergambar dengan cucu-cucu. Alahai, baru 2 orang! Gambar Kanan : Khayra bersalaman dengan cousin-nya, Aisyah. Gambar Bawah : Satu daripada 'gerombolan' saudara yang datang beraya di rumah keluarga saya. Keluarga ini datang sekaligus tau, memenuhi ruangan rumah saya. Abah & Ummi gembira sungguh welcoming all of them yang tak pernah miss untuk datang beraya setiap tahun. Tetamu lain memenuhi rumah keluarga saya sehingga ke malam hari.



Ini pula cerita Raya Ketiga. Saya di rumah Mertua setelah balik beraya dari rumah Boss saya dan beberapa kenalan lain. Itu gambar Khayra bersama Eihsan, sepupu-nya. Malam pula, diadakan photo shoot Raya keluarga Suami saya. Gambar? Nanti saya upload jika berkesempatan kerana gambar masih dengan photographer kami.

Ini cerita Raya Keempat. Kami di rumah terbuka Aunty (Achik) saya. Baru kami berpeluang snap gambar sekeluarga. Walaupun telah ada new additions to the family (i.e. Menantu[s] & Cucu[s]), keluarga saya still seems to be a small happy family.




Ini pula cerita Raya Kelima. Hari Raya Kelima ini telah diadakan Majlis Tahlil & Kesyukuran serta Aqiqah sepupu Khayra, Eihsan Bin Razman di rumah Mertua saya. Ramai tetamu hadir memeriahkan majlis disamping turut beraya. Khayra juga banyak dapat 'ang pow' raya on that day.

Pada petang Raya Kelima, saya dan Abang sekeluarga telah ke Masjid Terapung untuk mengadakan sesi outdoor shooting. Memang menariklah pencahayaan petang itu. Gambar ini oleh Adik saya, kami posing ala 'calon-calon keluarga bahagia.' Hahah!

Ketaksuban Suami saya terhadap lampu itu memang nyata tak dapat disembunyikan lagi. Heheh. Background Masjid Terapung itu menarik sekali.




Ini lengkaplah gambar kami tiga beradik bersama keluarga masing-masing. Opps, Adik saya yang di tengah itu masih single. Heh.

Ini pose tercantik kami sekeluarga. Gambar ini jadi desktop appearance saya sekarang. Sungguh tembam la anak saya tu. Kredit untuk Abang saya sebagai jurufoto dan Suami saya sebagai pengarah fotografi kami pada petang itu.


Jadi anda telah 'dihidangkan' dengan gambar-gambar menarik kami sepanjang 5 hari Raya kami pada tahun ini. Tak cukup? Masih banyak lagi gambar, tapi di entri ini cukuplah sekadar di sini sahaja. Ini pun saya curi-curi masa untuk membuat entri Raya kami.

First Journey

Dearest My Lil Darling Khayra,

Today is Ibu’s FIRST day at work after 70 days [confinement] being with you 24/7. It was hard for Ibu to leave you at home but Ibu is very sure that Tok Wan will take a good care of you while Ibu is at the office. Ibu just hope that you will behave at home with Tok Wan.

Nothing much difference at the office after 70 days Ibu left the office. That is because Abah had took over Ibu’s work within that 70 days and did a great progress on the files, making Ibu left with less of work today and onwards. Ibu guess that is why Ibu miss you a lot today as Ibu is not busy at the office right now.

To minimize the feeling, Ibu browse over your current pictures as below :-

1. Khayra with Mak Ngah and Abang Eirfan. Makngah is currently in her confinement period.
2. Khayra's newborn cousin, EIHSAN BIN RAZMAN (DOB: 28.08.2009).
3. Khayra with her cousin, Kak Ira.

These current pictures were taken during Khayra’s first visit to KL on 03.09.2009 – 07.09.2009. Despite of visiting her newborn cousin, we went to see Ayah Long's family as they were in KL for their family business, Tok Abah and Tok Wan at Quality Hotel as Tok Abah had Counsel meeting with Bar Council. Khayra also had the opportunity to visit Tok Chik, Tok Zie, Wawan & Tok Long and Tok Teh.

Introducing Khayra’s big cousins (so far) during her first visit to KL :-

1. Kak Aisyah (Ayah Long's first daughter) - Ibu's side
2. Abang Eirfan (Mak Ngah's first son) - Abah's side
3. Kak Ira (Pak Long's first daughter) - Abah's side

We also took the opportunity to visit El Wijdan. Ibu and Aunty Linda could not stop from chit-chatting during the visit. The good old days, but now eventhough we both have our very own family, the friendship still grows fonder. Now, Khayra could not wait to visit baby Irsa Hana and Aunty Zmah. Yeay! Khayra also arranged a date/berbuka with Aunty Id however due to unexpected circumstances, the 'meeting' had to be postponed. We promise to meet up next time ya!

So back to reality. Ibu is still at the office. Tok Wan called Ibu just now and said that you are already asleep after having Ibu's EBM (express breast milk). Don't worry, Ibu had enough storage milk for you while Ibu is at work (and fasting). Today, Ibu and Abah went to collect your gift from Aunty Midah; the cooler bag. (Thanks a lot Midah!) From now on when Ibu is at work, you will be provided with the EBM in this new bottle (before this, Khayra was using Avent Bottle):-

Ibu just bought the bottle a few days ago at Mothercare as the bottle according to this, contains the following features:-

· Super-sensitive anti-colic valve
· Teat designed to mimic the natural flex and feel of a mum's breast
· Soft natural feel silicone teat
· Slow flow teat
· BPA free for total reassurance

According to Tok Wan, you have no problem with the bottle and finished up the EBM before you were falling asleep again. Ibu feel so happy today as you behave at home with Tok Wan.

Owh my Lil Darling dear, its already 3.00 pm. In next one hour, Ibu will see you! Yeay!

The Mommy Diaries

Alhamdulillah, Ramadhan has come again. It was as if like yesterday that I enjoyed my first puasa with my Husband despite having a long distance marriage or as Abah always put it … “Perkahwinan Jarak Jauh (PJJ)”. Eventhough we only had the chance to berbuka and sahur during the weekends, it did not stop us in enjoying our life as a married couple.

As for this Ramadhan, we have an additional person in our life… Khayra, our bundle of joy who is currently 61 days old. The name given to our lovely daughter, after considering thousands other names, means ‘Kebaikan’.

So here I am, still at home and in the midst of completing my 2-months and an additional of 1 week ‘holiday’ – just counting the days to be a “working mom”, which is just around the corner. What freaks me out is to leave Khayra when I eventually go to work as it seems like she is getting very attached to her Ibu, especially considering that Khayra is fully breastfed (BF).

Speaking as a mom, I am fully thankful to Allah as I manage to take care of Khayra on my own; bathing her, changing her diapers, washing her clothes, waking up at the middle of night and early in the morning to BF her, to pump the milk and even still manage to wake up and prepare sahur for us and my in-laws. Don’t let me get started on the tiredness, the sleepiness and the obligations which rest on my shoulder as a wife, a mom, a daughter, a daughter-in-law, etc., etc. But despite that, I am so thankful for the helping hands from my Husband and both my parents.

Khayra now is a very cheerful baby - always smiling, calling us when she feels alone/bored in her baby cot, responds to us when we talk to her with her, making ”aah.. aahh..” sounds. She rarely cries but when she does, it is usually because she demands Ibu’s milk, which is healthily increasing her weight day by day.

Now realizing that being a mom is a very adventurous job (as I have carried so far), I truly respect every mom out there especially my beloved Ummi. I strongly believe that tiredness has never been an issue for all moms in the world because the moment you look at your baby, all the exhaustions would melt away and disappear.

P/s #1 : Kambing seekor for Aqiqah (15kg) dimasak gulai dihidang bersama Nasi Beriyani habis dijamu oleh tetamu. Tambahan another 5kg daging masak merah disponsor oleh Nyang.

P/s #2 : Marhaban, Tahlil & Cukur Jambul at 11.00am. Khayra tidur dipangku Abah.

P/s #3 : Majlis sepatutnya berlangsung dari jam 11.00 pagi hingga 3.00 petang tetapi kehadiran ramai tetamu menyebabkan Majlis terbuka hingga jam 5.30 petang.

#4 : Door gifts to tetamu yang hadir. (Marble cake inside the cutie box & bunga rampai yang wangi).
*Note : The door gifts were ordered and has been reserved earlier by us. Abah Khayra had to go to Shah Alam to pick the door gifts by himself.

My daughter, an actual person...

As I was collecting Khayra's MyKid at the Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara the other day, it suddenly dawned on me that my daughter is an actual person - she's not just my daughter; she's actually a person on her own ...

... she is a legally recognized citizen of Malaysia with her own

Birth Certificate and MyKid ...

... she is a member of the Tabung_Haji and has even registered for Haj in 2027 ...

... she even has a joint MayBank account and a member of the Yippie_Club ...

... so in reality, I'm not really raising just A BABY, am I? I'm actually raising a real person... now, if you would excuse me, I'm going to start freaking out...

Congratulations...!
