Happy Birthday Dearie...!

"How do I begin to tell you how honoured I am
To have you in my life?
I'll start by saying it was a dream come true
The day you became my wife.

You're my best friend in the good times
And my rock in times of sorrow.
You're the reason for sweet yesterdays
And my promise for tomorrow.

I never thought I could feel this loved
Until you became my wife.
You made this year and each other year
The best of my life.
Love always, my darling wife
And have a very meaningful Birthday..."

Bullous Impetigo & The Misdiagnosed

Selepas 3 hari pulang dari Melbourne I noticed macam ada ulser dekat mulut Khayra. I guess it might be because of the changes of weather. You know what? Turun je dari plane sampai di Malaysia, Khayra was saying it loudly, “Panasnya!” Haha! A day after, ‘ulser’ tu tak kelihatan but ada macam tompokan merah around her cheek like err (small) blister. I became panicked then after picked her up from school, we went to see a Doctor. The lady Doctor said it was a symptom of lack of Vitamin B so she just gave us a cream and multivitamin. 2 days after I realized that the blister did not heal but makin teruk and there was also reddish spot around her back (dekat pinggang). We asked her, “Khayra, sakit tak?” while pointed out at the reddish spots and she said “Tak.” She did not cry and she just an active little girl as usual. My Husband and I decided to see the skin specialist but when we got there, the doctor was on leave. We decided to see her Pediatrician and went to KT Specialist straightaway.

The Pediatrician has diagnosed Khayra with Herpes! Terkejut den sebab as far as I know Herpes is caused by errr, nevermind. Heh. So the Pediatrician gave us an antibiotic, anti-viral medicine & 2 types of creams: Difflam mouth and Fucithalmic. FYI Khayra has no problem on taking medicine (Alhamdulillah) but when we applied the creams she seemed not comfortable and at times menangis. One night when we applied the said cream on her back, she cried and said to me, “Ibu, sakit. Ibu, nak tiup” while pointing at her back dan minta Ibu tiup untuk hilangkan kesan cream. Suddenly I burst into tears, secara teresak-esak dan tersedu-sedan! Seriously tak boleh tahan dengar Khayra cakap macam tu. We both cried together and Hubby hugged us.

At that time we decided to meet another skin specialist and set for an appointment at KL. My little daughter cried in pain pun aku nangis gila-gila. Seriously what they were thinking when they did that? Buang? Bunuh? Dera? Haish.

Sebab kami nak cepat jumpa skin specialist di KL (as the blisters became worsen!) we came to the office at night untuk siapkan kerja. Called the Big Boss and applied for an emergency leave on Thursday, so pagi-pagi dah bertolak. The Doctor, Dr. Mohd Noh was very nice to us and by looking at the reddish spots / blisters on Khayra’s body he has diagnosed Khayra with bacterial infection or known as Bullous Impetigo. By the time we met Dr. Mohd Noh, Khayra’s condition was OK and not that severe as there were no new blisters existed – might be she has taken anti-viral before. If you asked about Khayra’s condition, she was just a happy little girl! Macam tak sakit unless bila letak cream dari Pediatrician tu je, dia cakap sakit.

Kitapun tatau dari mana Khayra got the infection, maybe dari daycare or maybe dari Melbourne or maybe dari persekitaran. Wallualam. Tapi Alhamdulillah semua dah OK.

Khayra at Starz Garden, SOGO.

Jadi alang-alang di KL – maka telah inform kawan-kawan untuk meeting / catching up (we have planned earlier sebab memang dah plan nak datang KL on Friday to attend a wedding). Biasa kalau gi KL mesti busy semacam memenuhi undangan-undangan perjumpaan. Cheewah. Macam PM je sibuk dia. Haha. Antara yang sempat meluangkan masa bersama kami:

(1) Id and Irfan! They invited us for having (homemade) lunch at their home – thank you! Sedaplah!

(2) Jumpa budak kecik 2 orang yang dirindui – Aisyah & Firdie. Juga bersama Ibu dan Abah mereka :D

(3) Jumpa Zulhairil yang jauh dari Sarawak – setelah bertahun nak jumpa Khayra, baru sekarang tercapai. Hihi. (Took almost 2 years!). Hubby was trying to gather all his ex-housemates at Bukit Kuda tapi tak tercapai sebab Daud couldn’t make it.

(4) A mini gathering / catching up just like the good old days at UiTM – the difference : now we bring our very own family together :D

(5) Anak-anak bermain bersama. Penyambung silaturrahim, insyaAllah.

Nevertheless it was so hard to say goodbye to everyone. Hmm.

Resipi : Puding Roti

Selalu berdebar bila Ayin minta resepi masakan sebab saya bukanlah berbakat besar dalam bab-bab memasak ni. Teringat di Melbourne bila Mama (my MIL) bercakap tentang saya rajin memasak pelbagai lauk dan mengundang tetamu makan secara berjemaah depan Umi saya. Serta merta mengaku sebelum kahwin semua benda bab masak-memasak ni TAK PERNAH buat! Haha. Alhamdulillah selepas kahwin, BOLEH memasak tapi bukanlah pakar. Huhu. OK, that would be in another entry. Kah kah!

Malu (tapi mahu) share resipi ini sebab resipi orang lain (lagi-lagi Ayin tu :D) lagi hebat dari ini tapi saya share sebab saya suka sangat dessert ini dan atas permintaan Ayin, maka inilah resipi : Puding Roti. (Maaf, tiada gambar. Tak pernah snap gambar homemade Puding Roti. Hihi)

Bahan-bahan

500ml susu segar
3 biji telur (medium size)
5 sudu besar gula
1 sudu besar tepung kastard

Sos Kastard

500ml susu segar
2 sudu besar kastard
2 sudu besar gula biasa / gula perang
Sedikit esen vanilla

Cara menyediakan sos kastard

1. Kesemua bahan di atas disatukan.

Yummy good! Hehe :D

Trip To Melbourne (Part II)

Mari kita sambung tentang trip to Melbourne untuk Bahagian Kedua. Bahagian Pertama ada di sini. This is also going to be the last part of our (awesome) trip to Melbourne since I don’t want to drag it secara panjang lebar. I don’t think I’m going to put up more photos in my Facebook sebab malas nak upload. Tengok lah macam mana. Kalau tiba-tiba angin rajin datang, boleh la upload. Eih, sudah tersasar dari intro yang pendek. Maka mari lihat perjalanan cerita berdasarkan gambar (hoyeehh!).

Welcome to Day 3. Memandangkan cuaca cerah pada hari ketiga, Abang Din suggest untuk ke Ballarat – about 110km from Victoria, Melbourne (+/- about 2 hours journey). Oh, did I tell you sepanjang berada di Melbourne kami sewa MPV untuk ke sana ke mari dan Abang Din yang jadi driver.

Ballarat is such a nice place, sarat dengan cerita sejarah dan kebanyakan bangunan yang ada masih mengekalkan ciri-ciri sejarah yang asal.

Pictures (Top) L-R : (1) Ketibaan di Ballarat. Freezing and so windy that day! (2) In front of Ballarat Tourism Centre – getting our souvenirs and information.

(Below) L-R : Ballarat Heritage Walking Trails. Cantik dan menarik!

Pictures : (Top) L-R : Still at Ballarat. (1) Inside the Art Gallery of Ballarat – “The Time Capsule : was placed beneath this stone on 10.03.1988 and to be opened on 10.03.2088”. (2) Hubby with huge frame of Eureka Rebellion.

(Below) L-R : (1) In front of the Art Gallery of Ballarat. (2) In front of Ballarat Law Courts. Lawyers and Courts – so much in common. Huhu. (3) In front of The School of Mines and Industries Ballarat (established since 1870) – currently known as University of Ballarat.

Pictures : (Top) L-R : (1) At the area nearby The School of Mines and Industries Ballarat. (2) One of the legal firm at Ballarat – Saines Lucas Solicitors (established since 1939). Wow!

(Below) L-R : (1) and (2) Breathtaking view at the lake in Ballarat. (3) At Sovereign Hill – Ballarat’s major gold diggings. We bought our gold-based souvenirs here. Suka :D

Day 4 – We went to Victoria Market. Adrenaline rush for shopping especially souvenirs! Love, love, love! Teehee :D Pictures (Top) L-R : (1) In front of Victoria Market. (2) Hubby with one of the peniaga barangan kulit. (3) Khayra was playing with her newly bought Russion Dolls. Dari kecil Khayra suka main Russion Dolls ni, bila kami jumpa kat Victoria Market tu, kami borong. Haha!

(Below) L-R : Berkelah di park – city of Melbourne.

(Below) L-R : At Bundoora Homestead Art Centre. Then proceeded to Savers. Merasai pengalaman melihat hujan batu. (Jakun). Hehe.

For the rest of Day 6 – 8 : we spent our time visiting the city centre, did some shopping and had dinner at Abang Din’s house with fellow Malaysian students. I will sum up our trip by the below pictures :

Shopping spree : (Top) L-R : (1) Books! Very cheap. I bought several books for our little one & Hubby also borong books for him. (2) Lil Darling at the Clarks Store.

(Below) L-R : (1) Corelle / Corningware / Pyrex DFO. Yums! Bought Bamboo Square Dinner sets (note the plural, huh? Hehe). Hubby’s treat. Yippee yeay yeay! (2) Cotton On Kids. Juga enak! Muwallah!

Next shopping spree : (Top) L-R : (1) Lil Darling at Pumpkin Patch Outlet. (2) Nine West. Sedap ah! Handbags & shoes – “My. God. Huge. Damage. Has. Been. Done!” Hubby said. Haha!

(Below) : L-R (1) Strandbags . Variety choices. Yummy. (2) Coles. (3) Royal Doulton. Muwallah.

Visiting the city centre. Nice. Walau dalam hujan renyai, bergambar tetap maintain pose. Haha!

We had a very great time in Melbourne. Initially Abang Din wanted to take us to the Great Ocean Road tapi disebabkan waktu siang pendek (Maghrib at 5.30pm dan dah gelap) serta cuaca sejuk dan jadual lawatan yang packed, hasrat tersebut dibatalkan. Next time, perhaps? Hehe. Terima kasih banyak to Abang Din sekeluarga. Teehee. (Amin!) :D

Hati Cair Part V

Khayra is now 22 months dan dah banyak cakap since her 17 months.

We think we should teach her on manners since she could speak fluently (but depending on certain words, she would pronounce it on her own way tapi masih boleh difahami oleh kami).

Scene I

Home sweet home : Kitchen.

We were having our lunch and Khayra also had her lunch. Hubby finished first and looking at Khayra I thought she already finished her meal. I asked Khayra to go and wash her hands with Hubby as at that material time, I am still eating my lunch.

Ibu : Khayra, go and wash your hands with Abah.

Abah : Jom, Khayra.

Khayra : (Did not show any sign of leaving her high chair but kept on playing her plate with some left over rice in it) Main lagi sampai nasi tumpah ke lantai.

Ibu : Khayra, go and wash your hands!

Abah : Jom!

Khayra : Nanak (tanak), Abah. (Started to cry sebab Ibu nak jadi tarzan. Hehe)

Ibu : (Ambil Khayra & washed her hands while she was crying)

Abah : (Buat muka sad to Khayra)

Ibu : Khayra, go to Abah. Cakap apa to Abah?

Khayra : (Went to her Abah. Abah dukung. Tak menangis dah tapi sedu-sedu)

Ibu : Cakap apa kat Abah?

Khayra : (Diam)

Ibu : (Ambil penyapu nak sapu nasi tumpah atas lantai) Khayra, you are supposed to say something to Abah.

Khayra : (Diam) Sobbing.

Ibu : (Menyapu)

Suddenly …

Khayra : Sorry .. (and kissed Abah)

Ibu & Abah : (Senyum)

Khayra has learned to say ‘Sorry’ whenever she does something wrong.

Scene II

Home sweet home. Living hall.

I was lying down on the sofa & watching TV. Khayra was playing with her toys. Suddenly,

Khayra : Ibu, jom! Up! (Trying to show something to me)

Ibu : Why, sayang? I want to lay down here.

Khayra : Ibu, up!

Ibu : I want to sleep (buat-buat pejam mata. Hihi!)

Khayra : Ibu, please? (Sambil buat jari nombor satu)

Ibu : (Senyum & bingkas bangun) OK, jom!

Khayra : Yay yay!

Now, whenever she says ‘Please’ we will definitely oblige to her command! Haha :D

Scene III

At San Remo, Melbourne.
During Pelican feeding I told her that it’d be nice if the Pelicans could share their foods with each other. Back in Malaysia, Khayra was playing with her toys, Webbit & Dino. She was ‘feeding’ her toys with something then I heard,

Khayra : (To her toys) Share! Share lah!

Ibu : Khayra bagi apa kat Webbit & Dino?

Khayra : Fish!

Ibu : OK, so they have to share?

Khayra : A’ah! Pelicans share.

Haha, she learned by heart what did I say at Melbourne about Pelicans! Love you lah, Darling!

Trip to Melbourne (Part I)

We had an awesome trip to Melbourne! OK, disebabkan aku tanak cerita basi jadi aku cuba update pasal Trip to Melbourne ni secara ringkas. As long as aku ingat apa berlaku pada hari yang sepatutnya dah memadai. Sekarang nak catch up kerja dan nak tulis panjang-panjang sungguh tak sesuai. Haish. So here it goes :

Flight to Melbourne – 10.20pm. Memang sengaja ambil flight malam so that semua boleh tidur to kill the time. Photos were taken during the 8 hours flight to Melbourne. Huwargh. Khayra has been entertained by her grandparents for the 1st hour and she slept soundly for the rest of hours in the flight. Pheww.

Day 1 - Arrived Melbourne at 7.50am (Malaysia : 5.50am). Kami dapat priority to be first in the queue so semua jadi cepat. Beg pun kena buka 1 beg je sebab the officer tanya pasal susu Khayra. Kami pack all foods in a box, labeled yang mana not commercially packed so time checking semua lepas (man, they were so strict!). Also had our morning coffee at the airport while waiting for our friend to pick us.

Abang Din (kawan kami yang arrange semua penginapan, MPV, destination di Melbourne) invited us to drop by at his house for breakfast. Then kami terus ke rumah sewa kami di Dumbarton Street, Victoria. Photos were taken in front of our rented house ($115.00 perday).

Next after solat, Abang Din took us to Bacchus Marsh for fresh crunchy apple picking. About 40 minutes drive. Free entrance. Boleh makan sebanyak mana yang mahu direct from the trees but will be charges $5.00 per kilo if nak pack bawa balik. So crunchy dan manis especially yang kecil-kecil tu. *salivate*

Apple picking at Bacchus Marsh. Scenery. Big pumpkins.

Day 2 – Woke up at 4.00am (waktu Malaysia) for Subuh (waktu Australia 2 jam awal), had breakfast & ready to go to San Remo for Pelican Feeding and Phillip Island for kangaroo feeding and took about 2 hours drive to reach there. A small celebration on Mother’s Day! Photos were taken at San Remo – Pelican Feeding at 12.00 noon.

Dropped by at Phillip Island Tourism Centre and Panny’s Chocolate Factory at Phillip Island.

Mother’s Day (and feeding the animals. Yeehuuu!) Made a quick stop at Churchill Island Heritage Farm.

Phillip Island. Weeehooo! Kangaroo feeding. The sleeping Koala. (Note : $15 per person per entry)

Top (L-R) Koala. Emu. Black Swans.
Below (L-R) Stopped at Nobbies Island. Sejuk beku rasa sebab so windy! Next, Penguin Parade!

* The rest of the days in Melbourne will be in the next entry. Huwargh. Watch out this space for more stories. For more pictures, kindly check my Facebook :D

Mother's Day 2011

Mothers hold their children's hands for a short while, but their hearts forever. - Author Unknown

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers out there!

I am very sure that this year will be marked as the best Mother's Day celebration for me as I'm celebrating it in the Land Down Under together with my beloved Mom and my beloved Mother-In-Law! And of course in the presence of my Lil Darling and my beloved Husband, Father and Father-In-Law! Couldn't be more happier as we are all here, thousand miles away from our hometown just to be together, have fun together and in the name of L.O.V.E!!

Have a good day people! ;D

Self Therapy

Khayra sangat sporting maka telah membeli-belah tanpa sempadan but within the budget. Suami menggalakkan lagi si Isteri membeli-belah dengan berkata, “Take your time, Yang.” serta “Yang ini, on me.” Maka tercipta kegembiraan pada si Isteri.

Terima kasih, Suami! Terima kasih, anak (bagi peluang Ibu shopping)! Terima kasih, Tuhan atas rezeki.

Syukur :D
